As a painter I found myself not sure of a direction. Approaching the landscape seemed brilliant — almost an obvious choice. But once immersed in those surroundings, I was still unsure of myself.
Gradually, success came through the natural emergence of brutal marks, colliding formations, and somewhat chaotic imagery. These abstract elements continued to demand a presence in my landscape paintings and certainly have made an impact on my overall approach to painting. The landscape has become a catalyst for me, serving as an essential element in the early development of energy and form.
I am excited to continue this process and personal reflection as I pursue a passionate interest in visual art.
