Santa Fe (Amtrak) Railroad Station, Delaware and East 7th St.
When Langston Hughes lived with Mary and James Reed, he was a few blocks from the Kaw (Kansas) River and this railroad station.
This is not the original building, but the site is the same. Across the tracks to the left is the river. The foreground shows the original brick paving material from the 19th Century. Several neighborhoods in East and Old West Lawrence have retained red-brick streets.
