American Community Survey - 5-Year Averages

Special thanks to the Colorado State Demography Office for creating and sharing this application.

About the ACS

The American Community Survey (ACS) is a nationwide, continuous survey designed to provide communities with reliable and timely demographic, housing, social, and economic data every year. Information from the ACS help determine how more than $675 billion in federal and state funds are distributed.

Data from the ACS are published as one-year averages for areas with more than 65,000 people and five-year averages for all areas. Data in the five-year averages (used in the map above) are inflation-adjusted to the last year in the five-year range. More information can be found on the U.S. Census Bureau's ACS page at: https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/acs/.
