Project Overview

The Heartland Sexual Assault Policies & Prevention on Campuses Project’s (Heartland Project) primary goal is to increase post-secondary schools’ adoption of a comprehensive, gender-centered public health approach to sexual assault campus policy and prevention.

"We really need to have a unified approach on how we educate students [and staff], and how to respond to sexual assault, because it's not going to go away. If we can make an impact in educating students and getting them to think critically, then we're doing a big part of our job."

- Wendy Schardt
University of Nebraska at Kearney
